Will Zillow Move to Compete with CoStar?

At an event hosted by bizjournals.com in Portland last week, Spencer Rascoff, CEO of real estate website Zillow, was asked by an office broker if his firm had any plans to enter the commercial real estate space.
Rascoff admitted that he has heard the same question from dozens of brokers and leaders at some of the nation’s largest commercial brokerages. He also conceded that CoStar appears to be gunning for his firm’s marketshare with its acquisition of apartments.com. But he was vague when it came to directly answering the question.
“These worlds are definitely colliding,” he said, according to oregonlive.com. “But no promises. Stay tuned.”
