South Florida Real Estate Veteran Michael Cannon Dies At Age 73

Michael Cannon, known affectionately in the industry as “Mad Dog,” died at Baptist Hospital following a stroke. An executive director of Integra Realty Resources AREEA/South Florida, Cannon was 73.
A real estate professional for more than 45 years, Cannon took his appraisal job beyond simply determining property values, industry peers and former colleagues said. He developed a strong consulting niche and often testified as an expert witness in complex real estate cases throughout the nation.
Cannon was affiliated with numerous industry organizations, including Counselors of Real Estate (CRE), National Association of Home Builders and Urban Land Institute.
Various media outlets, including the Daily Business Review and Miami Herald , quoted Cannon in real estate stories throughout his career. He previously wrote a regular column in the Herald’s Business Monday section.
Funeral services for Cannon were held on Sunday at Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Chapels near North Miami Beach.
