Retail/Office Building In The Works For West Dade
A developer filed plans for a retail and office project west of Sweetwater in Miami-Dade County.
Coral Gables-based Flightway Eleven submitted the application to the county on Aug. 26 for a 62,906-square-foot building. The first floor would have 14 retail bays and the second floor would have 14 office bays.
It would be located on the 3.3-acre site at the southwest corner of Northwest 127th Avenue and Northwest 17th Street. It’s north of the State Road 836 extension that runs west of the Florida Turnpike. That’s an area of the county dotted with vacant land and warehouses. There are no homes in the area.
However, the ongoing development of the Beacon Lakes industrial park there has drawn more workers to the area. It’s possible this retail center could serve the employees in the industrial facilities.
The property was bought for $1.48 million in 2014.
