Publix To Open New Prototype Store In Boynton

Regency Centers announced the addition of Publix Super Markets as the new anchor of Boynton Lakes Plaza, a 117,000sf neighborhood center in Boynton Beach.
Publix is relocating from an undersized 39,000sf store in a nearby center to open a new prototype of 45,600sf in late summer 2012. The store will occupy a former Winn-Dixie site that was closed along with 29 other locations in July 2010.
In addition, the center will undergo a redevelopment including the reconfiguration of the former 56,000sf Winn-Dixie site into anchor and side-shop space, new exterior facade, upgraded architectural components and parking lot improvements.
The center is at 4740 N. Congress Ave. It was built in 1994 and acquired by Regency in 1997.  Regency currently owns nine shopping centers in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market totaling nearly 1 msf.
