Procacci Completes 90,000sf BTS

Procacci Development Corporation has completed construction of a new 90,000 square foot build-to-suit facility for Keiser University on NW 117th Avenue, Miami facing Florida’s Turnpike in the Crossroads at Dolphin Commerce Center professional business campus.
“This is a wonderful new beginning for our students, faculty and staff that will open the door to many positive opportunities for the campus and our community,” stated Gary Markowitz, Miami Campus President for Keiser University. “Working with Procacci on this project has been a wonderful experience – thanks to their commitment to the client and their incredible professionalism.”
Procacci collaborated with Zurich NA, global insurer and long time contributor to the development of the Built Procacci Strong construction concept, to develop a cost effective solution to satisfy the Zurich HPR (Highly Protected Risk) Program’s wind standards.  This building, the first school to be certified under the Zurich HPR Program, features the relocation of vital equipment from the ground (as in previous projects) to the roof, securing the equipment with engineered tie-downs and protecting the equipment with tilt-up, structural wall panels. Independent engineers have conducted wind tunnel tests to validate the ability of the exterior envelope and rooftop panels to withstand Category 5 Hurricane winds.
Keiser University serves approximately 18,000 students seeking associate, bachelor, master and doctoral degrees in over fifty high-demand degree programs at its fourteen campuses and through its Online, Graduate School and College of Golf divisions.  Keiser University’s educational reach extends globally through its International Programs including the Latin Division, cooperative agreements in the Eastern European Nation of Moldova as well as the new campus in Shanghai, China.
