PODS Inks 52,000 SF Lease Deal

Weeks Robinson Properties, an Atlanta-based real estate investment and development company, and local development partner Jeremy Shapiro of Miami-based Mainstream Investment Realty, Inc., a South Florida acquisition and development company, today announced a new lease for their building at their second development project in Pompano Beach.
PODS  signed a lease for 52,326 square feet of space. Pompano Beach Distribution Center II.
The Class A speculative industrial project is located at 4000 N Dixie Highway, Pompano Beach, in the heart of Broward County’s Pompano Beach industrial submarket
The facility is currently under construction and will be completed in March 2015.
Upon completion, Pompano Beach Distribution Center II will total 128,360 square feet with 32’ clear height, an ESFR sprinkler system (Early Suppression Fast Response) and 120’ truck courts. The front load building will accommodate users needing 20,000 square feet and above.

“Again, we are very happy to have re-entered the South Florida industrial market with our local partner, Jeremy Shapiro,” said Forrest Robinson, CEO of Weeks Robinson Properties. “The continued strength of the South Florida industrial market is reflected by many characteristics; a barrier to entry for new development, the completion of the Port Miami’s new tunnel, soon to be completed dredging project and South Florida’s strategic location as the gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean. Given the continued low vacancy rates in the Pompano Beach submarket, trending increases in lease rates and the extremely limited amount of new products under construction, we expect to see strong interest in this development. We are delighted to have such a quality tenant as PODS to start off this new project. This site’s proximity, just East of the I-95 corridor, with less of the traffic congestion issues the West submarket is experiencing, has further enhanced demand for our new facility.”

Randall Paulson Architecture is designing the project and Itasca Construction is the contractor for development.
Leasing for Pompano Beach Distribution Center is being handled by Rick Etner and Christopher Metzger with the Ft. Lauderdale Cushman & Wakefield Industrial Group.
