Plantation's Balfour Beatty Center Wins 2013 BOMA Southern Region Award

Balfour Beatty CenterTA Realty Associates’ Balfour Beatty Center in Plantation, managed by Miami-based Pointe Group Advisors, has been honored with the 2013 “The Outstanding Building of the Year” (TOBY) Award for the third time by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Southern Region.
The office building, managed by Pointe Group Advisors Senior Property Manager Devon Lee Newton, was recognized in the category of buildings under 100,000 square feet. Through this award, Balfour Beatty Center is now eligible to advance to the international competition.
Each year, the TOBY Awards recognize exemplary commercial real estate properties and industry personnel that demonstrate superior building quality and management practices. All award applicants took part in a thorough review of their buildings, including inspections of both public and non‐public areas, and participated in interview with property management teams and tenants. The applicants were evaluated in categories such as emergency preparedness, energy management, building security and community impact.
“We are delighted that, for the third time, Balfour Beatty Center has once again been recognized as ‘The Outstanding Building of the Year,’” said William H. Holly, president of Pointe Group Advisors. “We also wish to congratulate TA Realty Associates, the owner of Balfour Beatty Center, for this wonderful accomplishment.”
Balfour Beatty Center is a premier, ‘Class A’ office building located in Plantation. Constructed in 2000, the property features almost 80,000 square feet of office space that serves professional services firms, as well as its largest tenants Balfour Beatty Construction Company and insurance provider Solstice.
Balfour Beatty Center previously won the TOBY Award on the local level in 2012, 2011 and 2009, and on the regional level in 2013, 2012 and 2010. The building was the first of its kind in Broward and Palm Beach counties to receive the BOMA360 Performance Designation, a program that takes a holistic approach to evaluating a building’s operations and management.
“We continue to provide the highest standard of professional leasing and management services and personnel attention to our tenants and properties, as exemplified by the award-winning Balfour Beatty Center and its manager, Devon Lee Newton,” added Peter C. Gardner, founder and CEO of Pointe Group Advisors.
