NAI Merin Hunter Codman Names New Managing Director

NAI/Merin Hunter Codman, Inc. announced a trio of executive placements.
In the first of the announcements, the firm said that Richard E. Economou has joined the firm as a Managing Director. Mr. Economou brings over 30 years’ experience to NAI/Merin Hunter Codman working with some of the nation’s top institutional investors including Travelers, Aetna, CIGNA and Citgroup.
Throughout his career, Mr. Economou has ranked in the higher echelons of commercial real estate brokers both nationally and globally. He has long-lasting relationships with Fortune 100 and 500 companies and represents tenants and landlords in commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions and leasing. Mr. Economou joins NAI/Merin Hunter Codman from Cushman & Wakefield where he was an Executive Director in the firm’s New York City and South Florida offices. Prior to that, he was a Senior Managing Director at CBRE. At CBRE, he reached the firm’s prestigious circle that boasts its top 100 brokers globally. Mr. Economou is licensed in four states and is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York. He holds a B.A. in History from Ripon College.
Michael Bowden has also joined the firm as a Senior Property Manager. Mr. Bowden has over 25 years of diverse commercial real estate experience having advised on, managed and disposed of over $500 million in commercial real estate assets.
He most recently operated Bowden & Associates, a real estate advisory, management and brokerage firm in Palm Beach County, which he founded and presided over as President. Bowden has worked with a plethora of institutional and private real estate investors and at NAI/Merin Hunter Codman will oversee a portfolio of commercial real estate assets situated nationwide. Prior to operating his own advisory firm, Mr. Bowden served as an Asset Manager for Ocwen Financial Corporation, HSBC/Marine Midland Bank and Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company. During his tenure at those organizations, he handled the management and disposition of office, retail, multifamily and industrial properties nationwide. He graduated from Villanova University with a B.S. in Accounting.
In the third of today’s announcement, NAI/Merin Hunter Codman noted that it promoted Spencer Grossman to a Director position at the firm. Mr. Grossman was the firm’s Broker of the Year in 2013, and his momentum in sales and leasing continues with a bevy of recent transactions throughout Florida, ranging from office and retail property transactions to healthcare-related, mixed-use and more, illustrating the broad scope of Mr. Grossman’s capabilities. His high production has included alternative uses for distressed assets, as he continually applies imaginative solutions to assets while working with opportunistic “first movers” to capitalize on market anomalies.
“We are very proud to add two exceptional commercial real estate professionals to our team with Richard Economou and Mike Bowden and pleased to recognize Spencer Grossman’s accomplishments and development into a leader in South Florida commercial real estate,” said Jordan C. Paul, CEO of NAI/Merin Hunter Codman. “These three superb professionals further strengthen our leadership position in Florida as we continue to expand the breadth and depth of our client services.”
