Franklin Street Opens Miami Office

Multifamily brokerage expert Deme Mekras is taking the helm at Franklin Street’s new Miami office. Mekras comes on board as regional managing partner to head the new office.
“Miami has unquestionably established itself as a global market with broad international appeal,” says Mekras. “Multifamily in South Florida has rebounded almost completely to pre-recessional levels, creating a great place to do business.”

Mekras comes to Franklin Street from Marcus & Millichap, where he served as vice president of Investments. He brings more than 10 years of commercial real estate experience in the South Florida market to bear on his new role at Franklin Street. He has closed more than $295 million during the span of his career.
Mekras will be leading a South Florida investment sales team including Elliot Shainberg, a senior director who also worked with Mekras at M&M’s Miami office, and David Reinke, Investment Associate.
