Former Borders To Become CVS

A former Borders Bookstore located at 2240 East Sunrise Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale, known for its waterfront café on the Intracoastal Waterway, is being transformed into a CVS Pharmacy.
Workers were painting and putting up CVS signs at the former bookstore on Tuesday morning. The store is near the Galleria Mall on Sunrise Boulevard.
Wilton Drive Online, a publication of the nearby gay community in Wilton Manors, noted the transformation from bookstore/café to pharmacy: “It could have been an amazing restaurant, bar, entertainment center or resort-related business.”
Borders closed the store and 400 others nationwide in July 2011.
