Hotwire Communications will relocate its headquarters from Pennsylvania to Fort Lauderdale, Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced Thursday.

The telecommunications provider’s relocation will create 375 new jobs paying an average annual wage of $51,266, and the company will also invest more than $27 million in the new headquarters. Enterprise Florida, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance and the City of Fort Lauderdale assisted in the relocation. Hotwire Communications currently employs 300 in South Florida, and they will be retained.

Founded in 2000, Hotwire delivers customized high-speed Internet and other telecommunications services to condominiums, homeowners associations, student housing, senior housing and apartment communities as well as commercial solutions for businesses, hotels and the healthcare industry nationwide. It has about 100,000 customers in the state, one of its fastest-growing markets.

“Fort Lauderdale is a thriving community with a diverse talent pool and a great place to live for our employees. We are looking forward to joining the Fort Lauderdale community as we open our new headquarters at the Hotwire Technology Center,” said Kristin Johnson Karp, president of Hotwire Communications, in a statement.

Its Hotwire Technology Center will also include a co-working center for entrepreneurs and will be located in the former BankAtlantic building at 2100 W. Cypress Creek Road that Hotwire purchased in February. Hotwire was previously approved for a state and local incentives package of $1.9 million.
