Flower Importer Purchases Americas' Gateway Park Building

A flower importer from Ecuador purchased a warehouse/office complex building in Doral for $10 million.
Peter F. Ullrich, of Amelia Island, sold the 102,310-square-foot Americas’ Gateway Park at 1800 N.W. 89th Place to G&G Cargo Service, led by President and CEO Jorge Garces. The price equates to $92 per square foot.
ComReal Miami’s Edward Redlich, who brokered the deal for the seller, said additional consideration was paid for the building’s equipment, including refrigerators for flower storage and backup generators. The building was previously less than 50 percent occupied, with all of the tenants flower-related. Now G&G Cargo will move into the building and share space with those tenants, he said.

Miami is the main flower importing hub in the United States. G&G Cargo grows flowers in Ecuador and Colombia and ships them here.

Redlich said he also brokered Ullrich’s purchase of the property back in 1990, when the building was constructed.

“The new owners are getting a very unique property,” Redlich said. “It was its first time on the market.”
