FECI Taps Daniel R. Marcus To Lead RE Development Efforts For South Florida Logistics Services

Florida East Coast Industries, Inc. (FECI) announced commercial real estate veteran Daniel R. Marcus has joined South Florida Logistics Services (SFLS) as Senior Vice President of Development.
Marcus, who brings more than two decades of international real estate development experience, will lead all industrial development efforts across South Florida Logistics Services’ 2,000-acre land portfolio. The land portfolio has entitlements in place for more than 18 million square feet of industrial development.
Marcus most recently served as London & Regional Panama’s Director of Development. In this capacity, he was responsible for creating and implementing the business plan for the redevelopment of the former Howard U.S. Air Force base into the 3,450-acre, master-planned community of Panama Pacifico. The project consists of more than 11 million square feet of new commercial space, including an office campus, logistics park, and retail centers, plus 20,000 new homes and apartments.
“Dan’s expertise in master planning will be central to delivering warehousing solutions to our clients at the pace and scale that we’ve planned,” said FECI President and CEO Vincent Signorello. “There are few executives in the United States that possess his development credentials, and we’re very excited to have him on our team.”
Prior to joining London & Regional Panama, Marcus served as a Senior Vice President at ProLogis where he opened the company’s India office. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Development – Northwest Region at Catellus Development Corporation, where he was responsible for $1.2 billion of developable properties in Northern California, Oregon and Washington. Prior to this role, Marcus served as Director of Development – Midwest Region at Catellus Development, where he oversaw the planning, development and leasing of four large, master-planned business parks totaling over 2,000 acres.
Marcus holds an MBA in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Organization and Management in New Haven, Connecticut and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
