FECI Puts MiamiCentral Office Buildings On The Market

Florida East Coast Industries is marketing the first two buildings at the transit-oriented MiamiCentral development in downtown Miami for sale.

The listing includes 2 MiamiCentral at 700 NW MiamiCentral Ave. and 3 MiamiCentral at 161 NW 6th St. The 5-Star buildings collectively consist of 285,000 square feet of offices and 35,000 square feet of retail space.

The announcement comes on the heels of 47,000 square feet of new office leases recently announced at 3 MiamiCentral.

The buildings should attract a select group of bidders interested in buying new construction with long-term leases, said Gavin Campbell, founder and managing principal of the Steelbridge real estate firm based in Chicago and Coconut Grove. Campbell called MiamiCentral a “pioneering” project because of its diverse group of tenants in an area that traditionally houses lawyers and government-focused entities.

MiamiCentral also will have 816 apartments in a north and south tower, which are under construction, as well as a food hall, grocery store, restaurants and a fitness studio.

Another building with offices, residences and hotel rooms is planned, though Florida East Coast Industries has offered no time frame for that.
