Company Expands, Relocates HQ And Renames Downtown Fort Lauderdale’s Tower 101

Uniform Advantage, a vertically integrated, multi-channel retailer of uniforms to the healthcare and hospitality industries, announced it is relocating its corporate headquarters to downtown Fort Lauderdale.
After an extensive search led by Cresa South Florida, Uniform Advantage (UA) has elected to relocate its offices from their current location in Plantation to take 52,683 square feet in the Tower 101 building, located at 101 Northeast Third Avenue in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The company will occupy the top two floors, plus partial space on two additional floors. As the largest tenant in the Tower, UA has secured building signage rights and is excited for the opportunity to increase the company’s profile and add to an already impressive Fort Lauderdale skyline. The building will be called the Uniform Advantage Building.
Uniform Advantage will make a capital investment of $7.5 million and plans to add 50 new full-time jobs across the entire spectrum of their operation in the next three years. 180 jobs were retained in Broward County. Atlanta, GA, was also under consideration for the location.

“We’re excited to move to a downtown location, where we will provide a destination workplace to attract and retain top talent.  We are designing a space that will be fully equipped to promote both focused productivity and team collaboration – all within walking distance to amenities like restaurants, daycare facilities, and fitness centers,” said Susan Masimore, CEO of Uniform Advantage.

Since opening its first store in Lauderhill 30 years ago, Uniform Advantage has steadily grown to become one of the nation’s leading providers of professional work attire.  With nearly 400 employees nationwide, UA designs, manufactures and sells uniforms through catalogs, websites and company-owned retail stores located in nine states across the country.  UA also operates a 180,000 square foot, state-of-the-art, fulfillment center in Atlanta.
Uniform Advantage’s corporate staff of 180 employees perform mission-critical functions such as product development, web and applications programming, e-commerce marketing, graphic design, purchasing, planning, recruiting, training, accounting, customer service and sales.
The project was the result of close partnerships between Enterprise Florida, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, the City of Fort Lauderdale, CareerSource Broward and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.

Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler said, “The City of Fort Lauderdale is excited to welcome Uniform Advantage downtown.  We look forward to the company’s continued growth and success, and to seeing the Uniform Advantage name light up our skyline.”

Bob Swindell, president and CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance said, “We are thrilled that Uniform Advantage chose to expand in Broward County. The company’s decision to grow here demonstrates the strength of this area as a location of choice for corporate headquarters.”

“Cresa is thrilled that Uniform Advantage’s brand will become synonymous with the Fort Lauderdale skyline.  The location supports the company’s continued growth and presence in the South Florida community for years to come, said Zach Wendelin, Vice President, Cresa South Florida.
