Avison Young, Colliers Make Team Changes

In the latest round of industry musical chairs, Avison Young’s South Florida office is even in recent arrivals and departures at the commercial real estate services firm.

David Bateman, who served as Director of Leasing for Avison Young since April 2012, parted ways last month. Although unnamed sources have reported that Bateman has relocated to Jacksonville, Bateman’s LinkedIn profile states his location as Austin, Texas.
Prior to his stint with Avison Young, Bateman represented Miramar Park of Commerce for Sunbeam Properties.
With Bateman’s departure, however, comes a new arrival for Avison.
Peyton Moore

After four years with Colliers International South Florida, Peyton Moore has joined Avison Young as Senior Associate, where he will represent owners of class A office properties in South Florida.  Moore will partner with Greg Martin, Principal.

Maxwell A. Cappell has joined Colliers as an associate. A member of the Florida Bar, Mr. Cappell holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law, an LL.M degree in Real Property Development from the University of Miami and a BA in International Development from McGill University in Montreal.
“Max’s experience with South Florida real estate investment sales and the legal issues related to the acquisition, development, and management of development projects have prepared him well to assist the buyers, sellers, and investors we service,” says Stephen Nostrand, CEO of Colliers International South Florida. “We are pleased to welcome him to our South Florida team.”
Before joining Colliers International South Florida, Mr. Cappell held internships at BTI Partners in Hollywood, Florida, and with Trump-Dezer Development and the Miami-Dade office of the State Attorney: Criminal Felony Division.

Colliers International South Florida also announced that Perry Mesmer has joined the firm as Executive Vice President of Business Development. Mesmer joins the South Florida team after serving as Executive Managing Director of the Colliers International New York City office for more than 15 years.
“I hope to inject my NYC business experience into the South Florida landscape,” says Mesmer.
With more than 30 years of experience, Perry Mesmer has completed transactions totaling in excess of four million square feet of rentable commercial space. He specializes in tenant and landlord representation.
“Perry is a vastly seasoned professional. We are thrilled that the Florida sunshine brought him here from our New York office and that his experience will accelerate our client’s success,’ says Stephen Nostrand, CEO of Colliers South Florida.
Prior to joining the firm, Mesmer worked for Sumitomo Realty & Development (NY), Inc. and Bernstein Real Estate. During his four years as Vice President and Director of Leasing for Sumitomo, he was responsible for the performances of two New York City properties. Prior to joining Sumitomo, Mesmer was the Senior Vice President and Director of Leasing at Bernstein Real Estate for 10 years. Mesmer is a graduate of Syracuse University.
Mesmer is a long-standing member of the Young Men’s / Women’s Real Estate Association. His charitable affiliations include the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ronald McDonald House and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
