80-Story Tower Coming To Brickell

Swire Properties Inc. has unveiled its development plan for the 700 Brickell Ave. site the company acquired this summer.
The Brickell CityCentre developer intends to construct an 80-story mixed-use tower with office, retail, condominiums and a hotel, Swire said today in a statement. The Arquitectonica-designed tower is called One Brickell CityCentre.
Swire plans to connect One Brickell CityCentre to the rest of its massive mixed-use project with what it calls a climate ribbon, an elevated climate-controlled trellis. The tower would function as the Brickell Avenue entrance to the $1.05 billion project.
Swire closed on the $64 million purchase of 1.55 acres at 700 and 710 Brickell Ave. in July from descendants of the pioneering Brickell family and Northern Trust.
