Plantation Office Complex Fetches $52 Million

jacaranda business parkA twin-building office complex near Interstate 595 in Plantation sold for $52.13 million.
The office buildings, totaling 122,167 square feet and 124,382 square feet, were originally built in 1996 for Kemper Insurance.
The building to the east, located at 1600 SW 80th Terrace, formerly known as the Broadspire Building, totals 122,167 square feet.  Aetna took over the building’s signage when Broadspire sold its disability management services division to Aetna in early 2006.
Kaplan University opened a support center in building to the east, at 1601 SW 80th Terrace, in October 2009.
The complex, now known as Jacaranda Business Park, last traded for $44 million in 2010.
Denver-based Dividend Capital Diversified Property Fund affiliate TRT NOIP SW 80-Plantation sold the property to GPT SW 80th Street Owner, part of New York-based Gramercy Property Trust.
The deal works out to $211 per square foot.
