Kimco Takes Ownership Of Boomers Amusement Park

Kimco Realty Corporation acquired the Boomers amusement park at 1500-1700 NW 1st St., at the corner of N. Bryan Rd. in Dania from Realty Income Corporation for $29 million.
The asset totals 90,275 square feet on 29 acres and includes a miniature golf course, a go-car track, a pool for bumper boats, and a wooden roller coaster.
Both parties handled the direct sale in-house.
The buyer has plans for a mixed-use development called Dania Live Marketplace, which will cover 100 acres it is currently assembling.
In October 2014, the developer laid down $14 million on an adjacent 18.6-acre site at 181 S. Bryan Road, just south of the roller coaster and the go-kart track. The property was sold by Betty Pegram’s Florida Silica Sand Co. The buyer was Dania Live 1748 LLC, which shares the New Hyde, N.Y. address of Kimco Realty Corp.
It appears that Kimco is the joint venture partner of Bob Shapiro, who is seeking city approval for the 1.3-million-square-foot DaniaLive Marketplace, an open air shopping center with big box stores, restaurants, a hotel and apartments.
Dania Live 1748 also acquired a neighboring site for $2.95 million.
