International Law Firm Inks Full Floor Deal At Miami Center

Crocker Partners announced international law firm Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP has renewed its commitment to Miami Center, with a 10-year lease for the full 25th floor, 24,000 square feet, according to Angelo Bianco, Partner in Crocker Partners.

“As one of the nation’s top firms, Hughes Hubbard’s continued presence reinforces Miami Center’s stature as a world-class business center,” said Bianco. “Miami Center is well positioned with the ongoing revitalization of Miami’s CBD. It’s a strong draw with unobstructed bay and ocean views, immediate transit access and the adjacent Intercontinental Hotel.”

Nick Swerdloff, managing partner of Hughes Hubbard & Reed’s Miami office commented, “We are very pleased to reaffirm our commitment to Miami Center, with its stunning views and accessibility.  We believe that maintaining our offices here will best enable our firm to continue to provide best-in-class services to our clients.  This commitment reflects our continued confidence in the Miami and Latin American markets.”

Hughes Hubbard’s Gerard Cruse, Chief Operating Officer and Fran Tuffy, Administrator, along with Rashid Siapoosh, managing director of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, represented Hughes Hubbard & Reed in the long-term transaction.
Cushman & Wakefield Commercial Brokerage Services’ Miami Center leasing team, Senior Director Jon Blunk, Director Laurel Oswald, and broker Cristina Glaria, represented the landlord in the lease at the 34-story iconic office tower.
The transaction includes a complete redesign and modernization of the space occupied by the law firm, a Miami Center tenant since 1995.
The lease brings occupancy to 90 percent at Miami Center, the state’s second largest Class A office building at 786,267 square feet. Blunk said large space tenants are smart to make commitments now, recognizing that the market is tightening with the economic recovery. Cushman & Wakefield’s latest Marketbeat report, he noted, forecasts continued office demand in the urban core in 2015 with the area remaining one of the most sought after in South Florida, and poised for incomparable growth in the next three to five years.
Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, an international law firm founded in 1888, ranks on American Lawyer’s A-List of what the magazine calls “the top firms among the nation’s legal elite.” Its Miami office, established in 1987, provides sophisticated counsel to clients with business interests in the U.S., Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. It provides services in three principal practice areas – corporate, finance and litigation – and works closely with the Firm’s other offices to provide the full range of legal services.
