Colliers Closes 7,000 SF Expansion

Colliers South Florida is pleased to announce the representation of law firm Fowler White Boggs, PA on their expansion and renewal at the 1200
East Las Olas Himmarshee Landing building in Fort Lauderdale.
Carol Ellis-Cutler, Senior Vice President – Partner, was the tenant rep for the law firm’s 16,950-SF transaction. Colliers International has a continuous relationship with the internationally connected law firm out of their headquarters city of Tampa, FL. Fowler White Boggs has 130 attorneys in five offices located in Tampa, Fort Myers, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, and Fort Lauderdale.
The firm not only opted to renew their existing 9,950 sf, but expanded by an additional 7,000 square feet.  Their decision to stay at the Himmarshee Landing waterfront landmark property was primarily based on the strategic location of the building, its convenience to restaurants, ease of parking and upgraded finishes offered by the landlord, says Ellis-Cutler. “We searched the market for other class A full floor options and found several, including the former Rothstein law firm’s space,” she adds.
“We are not just moving people from one location to another,” said Terry Russell, Managing Shareholder of the Fort Lauderdale office of Fowler White Boggs. “We’re actually building something,” adds the former President of The Florida Bar, who has been a catalyst for accelerating the firm’s growth in South Florida.
“We are seeing great results from investments we have made in South Florida over the last five years,” said Tom Dearing, Hiring Partner for Fowler White Boggs and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors.  Dearing led the firm’s expansion in Jacksonville from 4 to 26
lawyers since 2005, while at the same time serving as the Office Managing Shareholder of the new Fort Lauderdale Office for the two years prior to Russell joining the firm.
“Our flexibility and adaptability to external changes has positioned us to grow successfully in a business environment where others are
contracting,” said Rhea Law, CEO and Chair of the Board at Fowler White Boggs.  Law is the only woman leading a major law firm in Florida, and one of only a handful in the country.  The firm recently received the Gold Standard Certification, the highest level of recognition from the national
Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF).
