BB&T Inks Wynwood Deal

North Carolina-based BB&T Bank has executed a lease for a 2,415-square-foot bank branch at 2667 NW 3rd Avenue in Wywnood.

The landlord is Brooklyn-based development company Abingdon Square Partners, a long time investor in the Wynwood neighborhood.

Lease terms were not disclosed.

Though not the first bank in Wynwood, BB&T will be the first retail bank branch to open in the pedestrian-friendly center of Wynwood’s revitalization district. It is centrally located on NW 3rd Avenue, adjacent to both Zak the Baker and the soon-to-open Spanish gourmet coffee and sandwich restaurant Rodilla Wynwood, as well as directly across the street from the iconic Wynwood Building and the new 428-space Wynwood Garage, the future home of Punch Bowl Social and a ±30,000-square-foot WeWork.

With the large number of office and apartment units coming on line in Wynwood and the continued growth of retail businesses, a financial services institution in the heart of Wynwood’s Business Improvement District is both needed and welcome.
